Walking the West Coast (Óbidos to Lisbon)
Portugal's Silver Coast on foot: medieval towns, surf beaches and Atlantic light, within easy reach of Lisbon.
The West Coast runs from Óbidos south to Lisbon and Sintra, about 120 km of Atlantic coastline known as the Silver Coast. Unlike the Rota Vicentina or the Via Algarviana, it is not one continuous trail but a string of coastal paths, local routes and medieval towns, close to Lisbon.

What the walking is like
Walled towns, surf beaches, Sintra hills
Walking here links surf beaches, clifftops and old towns: the walled town of Óbidos, the surf coast around Peniche and Ericeira, and the green hills of Sintra down to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Because it is not a single waymarked route, we plan it as a tailor-made or self-guided itinerary.
